Shannon Leila Quintin

June 12, 1974 – October 7, 2023

It is with profound heartache that we announce the sudden passing of Shanny.

Shannon was the eldest child born to Lynn and Lawrence.  Shannon grew up in Allan, graduating from Aden Bowman after moving to Saskatoon with her family.

Shanny loved to cook and was accepted into the Culinary Arts program at SIAST Kelsey.  Shanny loved cooking but quickly learned it was not her passion.  Her passion was helping people, Shanny had the biggest heart and would do anything to help anyone.  She went back to SIAST and obtained her Continuing Care Aid certification.  Shannon worked for Saskatoon Home Care, and after moving to Lloydminster she worked at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre as well as Points West Care Living.

Shannon was so incredible with her clients and patients; she formed many special bonds.  It was not uncommon to find her spending her breaks cutting someone’s hair or baking at home because someone just needed cinnamon buns.  Shanny was a person you just couldn’t help but love.  She was so vibrant and full of life.  She had the most infectious laugh and people couldn’t help but be drawn to her.  Shanny always went above and beyond to make sure her clients got the best care possible.

Shanny was not afraid to do anything, after many years in health care Shannon started her electrical apprenticeship and completed her first year.

Later in life Shanny discovered she had an artistic side; she would spend hours painting pictures for family and friends or just to hang on her walls.  Shanny loved her time spent with family, especially with her nephews, Alex and Sander and her niece Scotlynn.  Shanny was so excited and proud to be Godmother to Sander.

Shannon is survived by her parents Lynn and Lawrence, her sister Angela Laventure (Leon) their son Alex and daughters Blake and Madison (her son Huxley), her brother Shawn (Sherri) their children Scotlynn and Sander, friend Dion Boeser, her cousin & best friend Bonnie Chisholm, numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Shannon was predeceased by her grand parents Ariste (Rusty) and Leila Quintin, and Donald and Francis Shannon.  Shannon loved her fur babies and has been reunited with her beloved Fluffy aka Show Biz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to New Hope Dog Rescue donations@newhoperescue.org, https://www.newhoperescue.org/online-donation-2/, or by mail to New Hope Dog Rescue 8B-3110 8th Street East Suite 530 Saskatoon, SK S7H 0W2

A celebration of Shanny’s life will be held in the spring of 2024.

  3. Shannon is a person this is one of a kind. She gives her heart into everything she does. Her personality is one which she can get along with just about anyone and make them feel good. She has a special way of connecting that not a lot of people are gifted. I only knew Shannon for 1 year, but during that period, I understood how caring of a person she is. The world misses her. Many people will be hurt from this because of way she was. A very lovable person. You are with me forever Shannon. It breaks my heart to know I can’t call you. I did say to everyone that you were amazing and I meant that. The world is just that much brighter knowing you’re here. Thank you for giving me the chance to know someone so wonderful.
