Onkar Singh Bhamra

August 2, 1927 – December 19, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sardar Onkar Singh Bhamra on December 19, 2023.

Onkar Singh was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and last surviving member of his siblings. He leaves behind his wife Niranjan Kaur Bhamra, and their children, Amarjeet (Gursharan), Malkit (Sukhbir), Jaspal (Varinder), and (Late) Baljit.

He lived a long 96 years filled with eternal optimism, determination, and joy. He was born in Zanzibar (East Africa) and built his working career in Tanga, Tanzania before immigrating to Canada in 1991.

He was in active service of the larger community for most of his life – daily volunteering at the Gurdwara, visiting many other religious groups and networking amongst various social groups. He is remembered as a joyous,

He is greatly missed by all his family, friends, his home care nurses, and most of all, his wife.

We hope his soul finds eternal peace.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Edmonton Crematorium & Funeral Home, 6403 Roper Road NW, Edmonton, AB.
