SHERRILL LYNN ANDERSON

October 28, 1967 – October 6, 2023

It is with much sorrow that the family of Sherry Anderson announce her passing on Friday, October 6, 2023 after a battle with cancer.

Sherry leaves to mourn the light of her life, her son Ryan Robertson, father Gary Anderson (Diana), brothers Mike Anderson and Rick Anderson, nephew Jamie Anderson (Adrianna) and her first great niece Isla Rose along with many aunts, uncles that she grew up with. Also surviving is her best friend Shannon Sitko (Steve) and family as well as her family at Maple Leaf.

Sherry was predeceased by her mother Marilyn LeBlanc and brother Danny LeBlanc.

Sherry was a very kindhearted lady and anyone who met her enjoyed her company, sweetness and interest in them. In her professional life at Maple Leaf as Senior Supply Coordinator since 2011, Sherry gained respect and love from many producers and farmers who referred to her as the Queen of Maple Leaf because she went far and beyond to ensure their scheduling and operations ran smoothly. When Sherry had to stop working because of the disease these people came together to ensure Sherry and her son were not without the financial means to make it through her very difficult time. The family would like to thank you on Sherry’s behalf and tell you your kindness to her was overwhelming and appreciated by Sherry.

Please join us for a Celebration of Sherry’s life on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. at the Ridgewood Community League Hall 3705 Mill Woods Road East. It will be a time to enjoy each others company as it will be a happy occasion in her memory.

  1. I am heartbroken to hear of Sherry’s passing. She truly was a light in my life, and I’ve never met someone so welcoming and kind before.

Sherry trained me at Maple Leaf, and we worked alongside each other for just under a year. She felt like a mother to me (as I had lost mine years prior). Sherry and I had deep heart to hearts, we laughed together and cried together. I loved her so much. Unfortunately when I left Maple Leaf our communications became less and less, but I thought about Sherry often and the positive impact she had in my life in such a short time.

I am thinking of Sherry’s family at this time, especially Ryan. She loves you so much. Thinking of the Maple Leaf team + trucking team + growers as well… this is such a devastating loss for so many.

You will be greatly missed Sherry.

  2. I was very sad to hear of Sherry’s illness and passing. I knew Sherry when I worked at Alberta Chicken Producers and I always looked forward to our visits or calls. Sherry had a wonderful sense of humour and we frequently shared many laughs together. She always made the day brighter and happier for me.
Ryan was the love of her life and I hope he finds comfort in knowing the joy he gave his mom.

  3. I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to Sherry’s family and loved ones. She was a wonderful person taken too soon. May she rest in peace.

I never met her in person, but I felt I knew her. I had many good times with Gary (cousins) in North Dakota when we were growing up.
I am sorry that Sherry had to endure that terrible disease.
My prayers go out to the family.
