In remembrance of Kulwant Singh Ubhi

On September 14, 2023, Kulwant Singh Ubhi passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

He was a loving husband to Harbans Kaur Ubhi who left us on September 4, 2013.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-laws; Sarbjit Singh & Inderjeet Kaur Ubhi, Paramjit Singh Ubhi & Harpreet Kaur Ubhi, Amarjit Singh & Navkirandeep Kaur Ubhi

His Grandchildren; Kamalpreet Panesar and husband, Balwinder Panesar, Jasneet Gosal and husband, Marty Gosal , Amandeep Ubhi and wife, Jasmeen Kaile, Jagpal Ubhi and wife, Sherry Ubhi, Jasdeep Ubhi, Gurshaan Ubhi and Mnreet Ubhi

And his Great Grandchildren; Aniyah Ubhi, Jayvin Ubhi, Aarav Ubhi, Tara Panesar, Amira Gosal and Nirvan Gosal

Kulwant Singh Ubhi was born in the village of Ballowal in the district of Ludhiana. He was married to Harbans Kaur on May 10, 1952. Almost one year later, Kulwant Singh joined the Indian army and rose up the ranks to Subedar, the second highest rank of Non-Junior Commissioned Officers until he retired in June 1981. It was in 1988, when Kulwant Singh Ubhi, with his wife Harbans Kaur and their youngest son, Amarjit Singh Ubhi immigrated to Canada to join, Paramjit Singh Ubhi and his family. Kulwant Singh would work as a parking lot attendant for CitiPark until his formal retirement in March 2000.

Kulwant Singh enjoyed taking long evening walks, spending time with his entire family, watching old Hindi and Punjabi films and reminiscing of his time in the Indian army.

He will be missed most for his rambunctious laughter, giving spirit and unconditional love that he gave his entire family in Canada, England and India.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 12 noon from Edmonton Crematorium & Funeral Home, 6403 Roper Road.
