Gursimran Singh Villing

1998 – 2024

It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that the Villing family announces the sudden passing of their son, brother, nephew, and grandson, on February 17, 2024, at the young age of 25 years. Gursimran was full of life and always lit the room up with his presence. He was kind, immensely hardworking, and always put others first. We are blessed to have known Gursimran and are extremely grateful for the memories he has left us with.

Gursimran was known for his passion for giving back to the community. Over the course of his life, he annually participated in charity events to serve the city of Edmonton. Gursimran also possessed a profound passion for soccer, particularly harboring a deep affection for Manchester United. He dedicated a great portion of his life to playing soccer, playing for community, club, and recreational leagues. Along with that, Gursimran balanced his dedication to soccer with the responsibilities of a diligent son, grandson, and brother.

One of the things that made Gursimran so special was that he always stayed true to himself. No matter the situation, Gursimran kept a positive attitude and held his head high. He was truly an authentic and genuine person. No one who met Gursimran forgot his infectious personality and positive energy.

Gursimran will be dearly missed by his father, Karamjit Singh Villing, his mother, Kiranjit Kaur Villing, his sister, Anmol Kaur Villing, and his pets, Leo and Axle Villing.

The Villing family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the family, friends, and community that came out to support them during this difficult time. Additionally, we would like to thank the staff at the Edmonton Crematorium and Funeral Home for their services and generosity. We appreciate all the love and support we have received for Gursimran.

Rest in peace to our angel above, you will be dearly missed.

Service will take place on Monday February 26, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Edmonton Crematorium and Funeral Home. 6403 Roper Road NW Edmonton, Alberta.

  2. You never said ‘I’m leaving’, You never said goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it, And only God knew why.

It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you, The day God took you home.

In life we loved you dearly, In death we love you still,
In our hearts you hold a place, That no one could ever fill.

You will always be missed, Simi.
