Daun McWatt

With heavy hearts and much sadness, we bring the news that on the evening of Wednesday November 22, 2023, Daun Yvette Cecilia McWatt (Nee Cheeks) passed away after a battle with cancer.

She was pre-deceased by her parents Randolph Sr. and Georgina, her mother-in-law Sheila and, her Father-in-Law Frankie, her brothers Micheal and Tony.

She leaves behind her husband Dave, children Gisele (Collin), Guy, Yvette, Jeanne, Margaux (Shantu), and Alain; along with grandchildren Calla, Audrey, Thea, Covell, Azaelia, Elijah, Max, Hyrum, Mieka, Jerrika, and Willow.

Daun lived her life with humour, curiosity and an infinite love for her family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, love, and selflessness will always be fondly remembered by those she held dear.

Daun did not want a funeral or mourning, so the family will hold a Celebration of Life at a date to be determined later. Daun will be cremated and her ashes will reside at home.

In memory of Daun, who loved to read and valued education, a donation can be made to your local Library in lieu of flowers.

May She Rest in Peace.

  11. I will hold on to the beautiful memories of the time spent with my kid sister Daun/Pinkey growing up in Guyana and also the enjoyable time we spent residing in Canada. I am also very grateful to have spent last year’s Christmas with her and family.

  12. My youngest sister Daun ( Pinkey), had a dynamic personality. She was fun loving, eager and confident. She had a very strong Will. Memories of her will remain in my heart. I recall when she took Dad’s car and drove her friends to the open air cinema, on the East Coast in Guyana, she was only 14 years old. I surround her with love.

  14. I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Daun’s passing. My heart goes out to Dave, all your children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. I hold dear the many memories of Daun close to my heart of the great times we spent together with your family and all the laughs and fun we had… the many dinners, “Franglais” with your kids, Daun’s great cooking and the open love that Daun exuded and displayed to all…there is so much to reminisce about a life well lived with love, happiness and sharing that it will take time to digest how much we all have lost with Daun’s passing, however, I hope that you will feel comfort in the memories that live on in eternity…

    With love
