Pal Singh Purewal

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Pal Singh Purewal. He went peacefully on September 22, 2022 at the age of 89.
Pal Singh Purewal was born on November 23, 1932 to parents Harbans Singh and Daljit Kaur raised in Shankar Punjab, India.  He is survived by his loving family: wife Gurjit, children, Satinder, Harinder and Virendra; grandchildren Sonia, Paul, Justin, Rena and Raveena; great grandchildren Shayne and Senna.
Pal was a teacher in India before moving to England where he got a job as an engineer but he never lost his love for being an amazing educator. As the oldest sibling of 6 he dedicated his younger life to the education of his family and teaching others.
Pal was a devout Sikh and was a pillar in the community. His creation of the Nanakshahi Calendar gained him recognition throughout the world and his work will forever stamp his legacy in Sikhism.
Pal lived life to its fullest yet he always made sure to spend as much time as he could with family. His love for his grandkids and spending time with them was one of the only things that could get him away from his computer and working on his next project.
Pal will be missed by many and his influence will be felt for generations but his love will be felt forever.
