It is with great sadness that S. Harbans Singh Sidhu (born November 20, 1937) passed on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the age of 84. He survived a 15 month battle with strength and grace, despite being given a terminal cancer diagnosis. His passing was peacefully surrounded by his family in Edmonton, Alberta.
Born in Cheema, India, he was the third youngest sibling of 8. As a child and well into adult years, Harbans was fond of soccer. Later in life he took up the family business of farming, up and until he and his wife immigrated to Canada in 2001.
Harbans was preceded by his daughter and son in law, Kiranjit (Kiki) and Avtar Mann. He is survived by his wife, Hardev Kaur Sidhu; children Randeep Singh Sidhu (Sukhwant Kaur Sidhu); Harjot Kaur Grewal ( Kuldip Singh Grewal); Karamjit Kaur Khattra ( Parminder Singh Khattra) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Harbans grew into a joyous elder who enjoyed being surrounded by his loved ones. He took every opportunity to dance, celebrate and spread his infectious laughter. He will always be remembered for how he made others feel.
Cremation service will be held at Edmonton Funeral and Cremation on Sunday July 24, 2022 at 1pm followed by Antim Ardas at Darbar Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
