Madhukanta (Madhuben) Tailor passed away at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on May 19, 2023 at the age of 88.
Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Madhuben is survived by her husband, Ratilal, her sons Mahendra (Ansuya), Bipin (Damyanti), Jagdish (Mina), Jayantilal (Nayna); her grandchildren Jaimini (Shetal), Bina, Kaushik, Nirav (Tavish), Sanjay, Angela (Daniel), Mohini (Vishal), Mihir (Alyshah), Pritesh; her great grandchildren Maanav, Aadi, Shaan, Bhavin, Nikhil, Lyla and many family members around the world. She is predeceased by her grandson Krishna (Meghan).
Madhuben was born on December 23, 1934 in Goddha, Gujarat, India.
She married Ratilal Tailor on February 16, 1951.
In 1952, her first son Mahendra was born followed by Bipin (1955), Jagdish (1958), and Jayantilal (1959).
Madhuben moved to Canada in 1979 with Ratilal as permanent residents of Canada after being sponsored by their son.
Madhuben loved feeding and taking care of her family. She was also known for her hospitality and taught her sons how to cook.
Madhuben was an avid traveller to many countries even though she did not like to fly.
She worked very hard and sacrificed her whole life for the family in keeping everyone together.
Madhuben will be missed by extended family in Canada, England, India and friends from around the world.
A funeral service will be held for her on May 26, 2023 at Edmonton Crematorium and Funeral Home, (6403 Roper Road NW) at 2pm.
